Baltic Aurora

The solar activity this year has been phenomenal for aurora photography. This is the third aurora I have seen and captured in Germany, this time on the Baltic coast of the island of Fehmarn.

A photograph of the northern lights over a coastal landscape. The aurora spans the entire image, with the upper parts in vivid pink and the lower parts in yellow and green. The colors are reflected off the long exposure smoothed seawater in the lower part of the image. Beach sand is visible in the lower right corner, with many larger rocks. Some clouds are moving across the sky. A few lights in red, blue and white are visible on the horizon.
