To migrate to a new #Mastodon #instance:

1. Find a new server.

You can either use this great #tool by @TheKinrar to help you choose:

Or the official tool (with a limited selection):
joinmastodon.org/servers

2. Create a profile on the new #server

3. Next, redirect both #profiles to each other:
.../settings/migration (Move.../Moving...)

4. You can optionally choose to export & import your data: .../settings/export

Your approach & the thought of switching instances somehow remind me of moving from #Whatsapp to #Signal and eventually having to have both 😅
(as the critical mass has not seemed to be reached yet)
