For years, Frank Zappa has always been an artist where I never understood his appeal or why people liked him. He’s just never been for me.
I’ve always respected his talents as a musician, but the music itself never clicked with me.
One year, a friend gave me this copy of Hot Rats for my collection to try to help sway me. Every once in a while, I throw it on to see if maybe it’ll finally click.
It still hasn’t.

#NowPlaying Wayne Shorter's precocious Blue Note debut, ably accompanied by Lee Morgan and Coltrane group alumni McCoy Tyner, Elvin Jones and Reggie Workman. No wonder Miles Davis snapped up Shorter for his legendary 2nd Great Quintet, which not only adopted his style, but also seemed to "communicate by mental telepathy" after his arrival.

Ricotta Records is/was (I don't know if it's still there) a teeny record store for mice! Located in Lund, Sweden, the rodent-themed #vinyl emporium was part of an ongoing #art project by the artists' collective known as Anonymouse.

Anthony Phillips "1984" album from 1981, on Passport records (same as the Synergy Audion #vinyl I posted yesterday). This is a particularly important album in the stream of electronic music, as the whole album is anchored by a drum machine.
