πŸ‘‰πŸΎ @WordPress

We are still waiting for their #Threads account to embrace the #Fediverse (it is taking a while).

Props to @rolle for letting everyone know & advocating for this on #Github.

Now, how can we convince the WordPress team to install and activate the #ActivityPub plugin on their main blogβ€½ πŸ€”

@WordPress A very telling statement, which is true for too many tech communities: β€œWithin the WordPress space, many of the voices there were also present on other platforms as well. That means there would likely be very little incremental value to adding Mastodon as a supported platform, at least for now.”

@courtneyr @WordPress Interesting, given the quote I pasted was posted only yesterday. 😁

My point still stands. There are lots of folks sticking with Twitter/X because they’re scared of losing their audience. Even now, I doubt WordPress will take a stand against closed, centralized systems, for fear that it hurts their brand, so they’ll probably cross-post for the foreseeable future.

Baby steps. πŸ‘ΆπŸšΌ
