We are waiting for the mobile groomer.
Summer knows something's up.
While laundry is washing I decided to bake some lemon blueberry scones.
I will be checking on friends who live alone later today and no one ever turns down a fresh scone or two.
The scones are in the freezer until they are ready to bake.
The fresh organic blueberries are delicious.

The grandkids love pumpkin pie.
My second and final pie for today.
Will be accompanied by freshly whipped heavy cream with a touch of sugar and vanilla.

Since today is another day that will end with staying home I've decided to bake.
This is the first of two pies ready to go in the oven.
My husband wanted apple so this eight inch is for him. I gave up on trying to make the crust perfect. I overstuffed the pie with pokey apple pieces so they made holes in my crust.

I think it will taste good regardless of visual perfection.
One of the grandkids is coming out later to drop off our packages so I will send him home with dinner and a pumpkin pie.

We gave away the full size apple pie I baked yesterday.
I did promise to bake a replacement smaller berry pie today for my husband.
I figured I'd better get it done.
This one is raspberry and blackberry.
Our new oven takes a long time to preheat so we wait.

Today must be dahlia day. I threw together an apple pie. Waiting for the oven to preheat.
Warm pie for dessert. Lucky for us we have vanilla ice cream hidden away in the freezer.

I mowed fourteen thousand steps worth.
If I keep the grass short on Summer's front acre we are more fire safe, she picks up fewer ticks and my husband is less likely to fall when he can see the contours of the ground more clearly. For all of those reasons I push an old gas powered mower. The good news is that I've decided to start a battery powered mower savings stash again. Last time I ended up doing something else important with my mower fund but this time it's past time to modernize. I expect I will treat myself to an upgrade for my birthday in September.
In between mowing and other chores I finished my daughter's favorite lemon blueberry scones.
They smell so good. The big problem is that there are eight scones and only seven fit in the travel container.
I asked Summer what to do?
She thinks we should drop the orphan scone off to a friend who lives alone because there is only one scone and three of us.
She is a genius.
