As criticism of Palantir's NHS patient data system work grows and a number of hospital trusts continue to not use it (and those that are, are often doing so partially), the Govt. is apparently exploring using a break clause in the contract to end Palantir's NHS work.
If they do, I think I can safely say Palantir will not go quietly; expect a challenge to the legality of using the break clause (if the Govt. does) & significant pressure from Palantir's political allies.
"According to The Guardian, which first reported on the deal, Palantir will gain access to data including case files, reports from banks and crypto firms, and even communications data such as emails, phone records, and social media material tied to investigations."
Dear UK.Gov
You do realise that by giving #Palantir access to this information, you've also granted the US government access thereto, don't you? 🤦♂️

What one Earth is the government thinking giving #PeterThiel and his cronies access to such sensitive data? Nothing good can come out of this.

"At the heart of the claims is that while the underlying data may remain under the MoD’s control, any insights derived from that data do not. The implications of this, the insiders say, are far-reaching, especially because of the vast quantity of personal and other data the company has access to across UK government departments"
"A second source, who has a background in intelligence, said Palantir probably has “a complete profile on the whole UK population. They have visibility into wildly different focus areas, yet their data is all condensed into one foreign supplier’s control/visibility. At the very least I’d call that a security risk.”
Palantir, the US AI surveillance and security firm with hundreds of millions of pounds in UK government contracts, poses “a national security threat to the UK”, according to two anonymous MoD senior systems engineers with knowledge of the Palantir software systems the MoD is using.

"Palantir CEO Alex Karp thinks his AI technology will lessen the power of “highly educated, often female voters, who vote mostly Democrat” while increasing the power of working-class men.
“This technology disrupts humanities-trained—largely Democratic—voters, and makes their economic power less. And increases the economic power of vocationally trained, working-class, often male, working-class voters....”

Germany's government (among many others)* continues working hard on their surveillance state.
They want that #Palantir everywhere¹ & in anything (except their own space, obviously for "safety reasons"), and they keep expanding the #AI mass #surveillance, now even to their capital².
It's just funny to watch these absolute hypocrites, proof they have 0 principles, while talking about how liberal their country is.
