October 2024, Peaks Island, Maine. Three years ago there was a wild Nor'Easter that swept through the Portland area. A large tree came down leaving this stump that a local sculptor turned into a fabulous octopus. Former stump-now-octopus and its creator are shown in the attached photo.

Ein Eichenstamm hat an seinem Fuß eine alte Verletzung. Dort ist eine große Überwallung und in ihrer Mitte ein tiefes Loch. Der Stammfuß ist mit Moos bewachsen. An oak trunk has an old injury at its base. There is a large overhang and a deep hole in the centre. The base of the trunk is overgrown with moss.
