I hope you aren’t sick of #aurora #northernlights images yet. I got some time to work on a couple more images from Friday night in Washington State.

AP reports: "The good news is that Earth should be out of the line of fire this time because the flare erupted on a part of the sun rotating away from Earth."

The sky is filled with shades of magenta and fuchsia that merge in such an artistic way as if one had dashed their paintbrush across it. The sky, an artist’s canvas against stars that twinkle through as white rays emitted by the Aurora Borealis tower above the valley appear to emanate from a greenish-yellow base; blending seamlessly with the stunning display of natural beauty, awe, and wonder of the vivid pink tones that fill the sky so bright that they fill the entire space.

Red Aurora over Poland

Northern lights don't usually reach this far south. Magnetic chaos in the Sun's huge Active Region 3664, however, produced a surface explosion that sent a burst of electrons, protons, and more massive, charged nuclei into the Solar System.
