I asked my husband if he would like me to bake him a treat.
I threw around some options like cinnamon rolls, apple or berry pie, cheesecake and even blueberry cobbler.
He thought we should opt for something healthier.
So oatmeal chocolate chip cookies it is.
Chewy and oatmeal healthy.
Sort of.
Chewy for sure. Healthy maybe.

I used to take the grandkids camping a couple of times every summer.
Sort of.
We would rent a cabin and roast veggie hot dogs and make s'mores.
Not roughing it exactly.
This time they rented the cabin. Even though I won't spend the night I will be able to spend the afternoon with them.
So they will have a treat for breakfast I baked some blueberry muffins.

I snacked on the excess blueberry muffins after I baked today. There are two muffins on a white plate with blue trim. One muffin is cut in half with butter melting on it.

Put the finishing touches on these Italian Rainbow Cookies this morning, but #PrideMonth styled instead of traditional. ^^

Love bringing stuff like this to our Pride Fest to share! This time around doesn't check any dietary boxes, but next one will!

Our berry pie ended up very berryful. It overflowed just a little.
Raspberry and blackberry pie is my second most favorite with lemon meringue first.
The house smells heavenly and dessert is something to look forward to.
We even have vanilla ice cream on hand.

No sourdough this week, but I did make #bagels. This time I hit a small bump on the learning curve with the new oven. I had it in my head that I could put the stone on the upper rack in the upper oven, but it turns out that’s just a bit too close to the broiler element, and the two plain bagels that were in the center of the pan got a bit scorched. Live and learn! Otherwise these shaped up nicely, and the Modernist Baking slurry method for topping once again worked out pretty well. #baking

🇬🇧 I watched a bit of the anti-immigrant march in London Sunday, led by fascist, virulent anti-immigration activist Tommy Robinson. More than 100,000 protesters and counter-protesters showed up.

Amid all the racist hate, one counter-protest group displayed a large screen on a van with the message, "Immigrants Make Britain Fabulous" playing on repeat. Well done!

With that in mind...

This morning I watched Zimbabwean-British immigrant Leonel Maxlhaieie aka "Leo The Baker" prepare loaves, croissants and other baked goods for a popular pop-up in Ticehurst Saturday—a fine example an immigrant "Making Britain Fabulous!" ✊
