Poor Tennessee. Not only did he have a trip to the vet, but there was a stranger in his house.

The stranger was my handyman changing a lightbulb I can't reach and removing the screen in my office window so he could clean that window for me. (It's awkward to get to and hard to clean when you're short like me. He's tall.)

But now I have a clean window for #FensterFreitag, so it doesn't look yucky in the background of Tennessee photos!

Ruins of Netley Abbey, Hampshire

A room at the south end of the east range with amazing stone vaulting, built during mid C13. It may have been an infirmary or dormitory.

An ancient room within a ruined abbey with a complex vaulted ceiling composed of small pieces of stone. At the end of the room is a church-like window with a quatrefoil at the top and two tall arched lights below. The stonework around the window is intact at the side and top but broken at the bottom, though obviously consolidated. Out of the window can be seen a grassy area with a large tree.

In dieser Nahaufnahme weht ein langer, heller Vorhang aus einem weit geöffneten Fenster eines älteren Hauses mit weißer Putzfassade. Der Stoff des Vorhangs ist cremefarben und mit einem zarten, gold- oder ockerfarbenen Muster aus großen Rosenblüten bedruckt. Er hängt fast über die gesamte untere Bildhälfte hinab und wirft einen deutlichen Schatten auf die raue, strukturierte Außenwand. Das Fenster selbst wird von zwei hellen Klappläden aus Holz flankiert, die ebenfalls leicht geöffnet sind und Abnutzungserscheinungen wie kleine Risse und verwitterte Stellen zeigen. Über dem Fenster schließt das Dach mit einem dunklen Dachüberstand und sichtbaren Holzbalken ab, während im Hintergrund ein strahlend blauer, wolkenloser Himmel zu sehen ist. Die Perspektive von unten nach oben.

Das Foto zeigt eine große, mit kunstvollem, schwarzem, schmiedeeisernem Ziergitter versehene Festverglasung, die ein Seitenteil eines Eingangs mit einem halbkreisförmigen Oberlicht ist. Durch das Glas und das Gitter (schmale Streifen als quadratisches Gittermuster, bei dem immer zwei Quadrate nebeneinander einen Schnörkel haben und so eine Art 2x1-Schachbrettmuster bilden) fällt Licht, das ein komplexes Muster aus Schatten und Licht auf die angrenzende Wand wirft. Die Wand ist gelblich-beige und hat eine raue Struktur. An der Wand ist ein Handlauf aus Holz angebracht.
