I guess I'm staying up a little to finish watching the Las Vegas Grand Prix tomorrow.
Night race is great because:
1) Las Vegas looks rather boring during the day. The Sphere for sure would look dull. The Strip also colorful and glowing is awesome.
2) The cold of the night causes low grip on the track making for exciting conditions during the race.
3) The bizarre, yet very entertaining discussion by the commentators on the Moon during FP2.

Awareness of the sport in the United States plummeted after the U.S. Grand Prix fell off the F1 calendar in 2008 but rebounded strongly when it found a home in Austin in 2012. U.S. interest in particular has been supercharged in recent years by Netflix's, opens new tab hit show "Drive to Survive".
I love that the commentators spent a bunch of time in FP2 jinxing Pierre Gasly by talking on and on about how he hasn’t had any damage on his car this season.
Then Gasly has a moment and the commentators almost cursed hoping Gasly wasn’t going to crash.

Haas has two other partners, Ferrari and Dallas. Toyota is a new partner that will not touch anything the other two are working on, specifically, “Ferrari, obviously, the PU partner, gearbox, suspension, hydraulics, et cetera. Those areas, obviously, Toyota’s not touching.”
That doesn’t seem like a lot leftover for Toyota to touch in this partnership. Komatsu kept saying that the Haas team isn’t for sale and that Gene Haas has no intention of seeking the team. Toyota not having much in terms of work on the car speaks volumes that it is using the partnership to test the waters for a buyout of Haas.
What do you think?
