I was way, way offtrail and saw a large green object in the woods. At a distance I could only guess it was a car, abandoned in the middle of nowhere like you sometimes find in the New England woods.

As I got close I could tell it wasn’t a vehicle, but had no idea what possibly could be this shade of green.

Moss! Like a kid’s magic marker. I mean, just soak it in.

A large glacial erratic boulder sits on leaves amongst a forest. The rock seems to be made up of flat shale like rocks. It is approximately 18 feet wide and 4 ½ feet high. It is nearly completely covered with BRIGHT green moss, the kind of moss usually reserved for neat wet areas or misty mornings, neither of which this is. The colors have not been edited.
