You may say, these tech representatives are tone deaf fools or the students that booed them are "cool", "alright", whatever, but that is not the point. It must be SUCH a slap in the face to be graduating and getting YOUR day ruined by your university allowing that. I'm so disheartened about my job. We had a training about AI, and the person presenting just sounded so in love with it. Not as in appreciating a good tool to use, not like loving a new tool. She was actually in love with it, and even admitted to the need to stop thinking of AI as if it's a real person.
She excitedly talked about human-like responses to her prompts, as if someone she has a crush on gave her attention.
When I talk about my dislike for AI, how it can't be used ethically, how flawed it can be, I'm telling people that their crush is evil. They are reacting in a predictable way: with anger and hurt. It's an emotional topic.
Talking about a set of code shouldn't be this emotional. The data centers that are the beating hearts of their love interests get a pass from them; they would destroy the whole planet to maintain this dopamine high and in fact they are gladly doing so.
I'm glad to see you partnering with other European companies.
I just wish that #Ecosia hadn't gone on to go so deep into #AI with their services. And I don't see a way to cut it out completely like there is on #DuckDuckGo.

What the fuck it this shit in my Obsidian? What did I do to get this and how do I get it to go away?
I've scrolled through settings, core plugins settings, and all my community plugins settings and I don't see anything with that name. I do not want it. I started using Obsidian specifically to get the fuck away from "AI" editors.

Every now and then someone brings up #EffectiveAltruism, #TESCREAL, #RokosBasilisk, #Rationalism, or some other #Musk related nonsense. I ridicule it, or laugh, and move on. The whole evil god of Roko's Basilisk is so silly it doesn't feel worth writing about. But people started a whole cult over it and killed a bunch of people.
Since then I've been meaning to actually spend time tearing it down. So I think it's time to go kill a god. Fortunately it involves making fun of Elon Musk specifically and all the #AI-pilled #TechBros more generally, so that's nice I guess.
Also, I make the argument that we're all in a simulation that only exists to torture Elon Musk.
I love it when the story is written in the rock. So much character in this place.
