Up close with a Sandhill Crane this morning—captured with my phone from just a few feet away.
I’m always amazed by how tall these birds are and how calm they can be around people. Seeing one at eye level really gives you an appreciation for their size, elegance, and prehistoric appearance.

European robin.

I've been enjoying watching a pair of robins go in and out of my garden with food recently. They must have a nest somewhere nearby. Always a pleasure to see them and I'm glad that my tiny garden can provide a haven. I'll have to remember to put water out for them again as the hot weather returns this week.
