Still playing with the colors and doing monochromatic studies. This one separates really nicely when painting.
I also did some mixes too, to see how it reacts.

But honestly most fun was to paint this fun "hair" on the bird, which I painted without using white or masking fluid.
And I'm super happy how it turned out. Everything else comes just second.

House #sparrows, once one of the most common #bird species, are becoming increasingly rare in #Europe. Several studies have already shown a direct link between the decline in species and industrialised #agriculture ( #herbicides, #insecticides, #glyphosat).
A new #study shows chronic exposure to #tebuconazole, a widely used #fungicide impairing offspring growth and survival in farmland birds

Songbirds heavily depend on vocal communication for mate choice and territory defense. But what happens if the level of traffic noise renders their song ineffective?

Birdhouse question for #birds #birding folks. I've been growing "birdhouse gourds" for a couple years. Last year I was worrying about a short growing season and let some gourds get much (much, much) too large for ditty birds; the one pictured is 16 inches tall and 11 inches wide in the "bulb". I could put in a larger hole nearer the top and hope for larger cavity nesters, but the shape doesn't seem like it would be attractive to such birds. Any ideas/opinions?

I accidentally set my camera to "iso 100" and then went to take bird pics for four hours without noticing. As you can guess, I came back with about 500 blurry shots. I did get lucky with this shot though! #robin #europeanrobin #birds #birdwatching #wildlife #wildlifephotography #birdphotography

A rescued double-crested cormorant chick being examined at International Bird Rescue’s Los Angeles Wildlife Center in San Pedro, California, US. When a wind-damaged eucalyptus tree threatened to fall, staff scrambled to extract the 47 eggs and 12 chicks housed in its branches. The chicks must be fed every hour from 8am to 8pm.

A couple of weeks ago I had a beautiful foggy morning to shoot waterfowl and I am very happy with the way this shot turned out! I hope you like it as much as I do.

Tog en skogspromenad som ”rehab” i dag. Hade endast ett objektiv med mig, 200-800 (FF ekv) med bra närgräns. Väldigt varierande bilder det går att ta då. Allt handhållet.

Storks at the Knepp estate, West Sussex, UK. Storks went extinct in the UK in the early 15th century, but are now making a comeback on rewilded land. The town of Storrington (named after the birds) and the nearby Knepp estate have been designated a “European stork village”

TIL about an incredible bird called the Arctic Tern, every year it flies from one side of the planet to the other and back again:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arctic_t…

"Recent studies have shown average annual round-trip lengths of about 70,900 km (44,100 mi)"

A bird species that migrates 70,000 kilometres every year! 🤯
