I wonder if I have discovered a huge #Mastodonsocial bot net.

Look at the profile description, most of the (the similar looking) followers, names, posts (#AI made images), the accounts engaging with those & join date.

They seem to advertise the same 2 websites.

Most of the mastodon.social #botnet we recently confirmed is still intact.

Only the accounts we all reported were banned, while the others are still active.

The #reports specifically mentioned that they are part of a larger botnet, to no effect.

#Mastodon #software seems to be great at automatically detecting obvious botnets, like the first example while struggling with #AI generated, higher-quality profiles.

I like that the same picture is in their testimonials and their 'about' page..

Good catch, this is honestly a great example for a digital literacy class on how to identify a sophisticated botnet

Zeta67 7mo ago. To anyone that installed this program like I did, I recommend using a system restore to go back to before you installed it. The uninstallation is extremely sketchy, it basically failed to do it and still kept the folder, I opened the file location and it looked like they had their own uninstall file. I didn't trust it and just deleted the folder, but now I wonder if it's planted some malware in some other part of my computer. A system restore is the best counter to this. Also of course don't trust the bot accounts that are leaving the positive reviews. 1 Reply bopapa_1979. 2y ago. Wiser words were never spoken: "If you aren't paying for a product, you are the product." Does anybody here know how ScreenRec, the company, monetizes their product? Free to use, but cloud uploads. I'm concerned about what they may do with the uploads.
