GORGEOUS MONSTERS & THEIR PETS
Welcome to my new interview series. I am the official human spokesperson for the Guardian Monster Guild, editor of the Monster Times & Review and author of the glamorous tell-all book, What Monsters Want. These are hard-won credentials that I have worked tirelessly to obtain. As an ordinary human being, entering the realm of Monsterdom requires a rigorous determination, and an ego that can survive all manner of taunts, threats and indignation. I have endured countless nips, pokes and licks from numerous monsters whose intent, it seems, was to provoke me into giving up. I have proved them wrong! NOTE: This latest set of interviews on monster pets is for human eyes only and includes interviews with a select group from the Gorgeous Monsters Society. (This is the name they give themselves.) Here we discuss their feelings of unabashed adoration for their beloved pets as well as their care and feeding. Meet Constance, of the Tellarium tribe & her two pets:
Esmerelda, a Blue Nifted Whistler and Eggelston, a baby Inkbit.

Seated comfortably on an antique chair with one leg swung over the arm, a pale magenta monster, with a long striped trunk, gives singing lessons to her favorite pet and pupil - a blue dragon-like creature with orange highlights. Out of its whistling mouth, leaf-like notes of song flow. On the large monsters lap, being tickled, another favorite pet. This little guy is a teal pattered, eight-legged critter, with an orange and gold face and belly. It is giggling wildly.

Humans aren't the only ones who enjoy a spot of tea now and again. Little monsters have been know to slip quietly into kitchens when no one is around and sneak a sip of two of freshly brewed sweetness. Alas, some of these tiny creatures may become so enamored with the tea, that they sip themselves silly and fall into a state of euphoria, causing all manner of behavior. This earth-loving creature has become a bit sad as of late, making the tea a little saltier with its tears.

INNER MONSTERS
Inner Monsters don't necessarily look like "real" monsters. They are part of that constant chatter going on in the background of our own minds, shaping our view of the world. They can appear in a variety of forms, from human, animal, monster-like, even as plants! Most of us... ahem... keep our inner beasties tucked "safely" in the closet, hoping they won't decide to reveal themselves at inopportune times, causing all manner of embarrassing moments, like sudden extreme shyness, unexplained crying jags, overwhelming crankiness, or laughing out loud for no apparent reason, among others. Sound familiar?
The solution is (drum roll please...) to MEET your inner monsters, SEEK to understand them, EMBRACE them as yours, and then LEARN about yourself through them. Bring them out of your personal inner-verse and set them free!
