I have been experiencing this for Tusky and Pachli (a Tusky fork)
The original Mastodon app, as well as (seemingly) the Fedilab app function normally.

CONTEXT:

privacy laws, including court cases, only recorgnize passwords as part of your right to privacy. so if you lock your phone with biometrics, DHS/TSA/ICE can force you physically to unlock the device. not so with passwords… until now.

prosecutors in Atlanta want to use this case to completely take away the right to privacy with passwords.

this would open EVERYTHING ―including emails, bank accounts, health care records―, to fascist predation.

Jetzt droht ihm ein Verfahren wegen Beweismittelzerstörung.

Die Verteidigung bestreitet die Rechtmäßigkeit der Durchsuchung und sieht einen Zusammenhang mit seinem Engagement gegen „Cop City“.

Die interessante Verschiebung: Nicht der Zugriff auf private Daten steht im Zentrum, sondern die Frage, warum jemand sie schützen wollte.

#Datenschutz als Verdachtsmoment. Praktisch: Dann muss man über die Grenzen der Durchsuchung kaum noch reden.

I seldom use google play services on my #grapheneos phone so I was pretty shocked to open the app and be offered 'RosyTalk' , a sponsored/featured app for... AI sex workers? Virtual girlfriends? I don't even know. It screams of abuse and alienation.

How are our kids supposed to navigate and develop good social relationships when this is being modeled for them online, and pushed at tthem on their phones? This is so gross.
