Here's a screenshot of my current setup for doing cymatics. I'm using Carla as a plugin host and using two LSP plugins, one equalizer and one mixer.

The equalizer I use to cut higher frequencies, because my sub bass loudspeaker can't really handle them. I also boost lower frequencies if they are too low.

The mixer I use to put stereo into mono, since it's only one speaker.

Since Playtime doesn't work natively on Linux, I am searching for a Linux native solution for Reaper to give me a Session View (like Ableton).

Kenny Gioia's solution could work, but it's clunky. I have Audio Damage's Circa, but that has no Midi. The closest thing I've found is Giada, which is almost perfect (except it isn't a plugin). For non-native solutions, Mulab's DAW plugin or FL Studio.

What are you guys using on Linux with Reaper?

I don't know if many of you remember Digg or not. It was the premier face of the internet....until it died. Reddit was the competitor that replaced it.

Well, it's back!

I created a Linux Audio group, so that Linux music makers can have some representation there. If you are interested, please feel free to come and join! :)

@NUND made me aware of a new #linuxaudio #synthesizer #plugin in the making and currently in #beta, called Deimos.

It is made with iPlug2 and offered as #clap and looks and sounds very promising, IMHO. 🤓

Check it out here:

So today I bought the #Korneff #Sitral #Klangfilter audio #plugin.

I don't think $65 is exactly inexpensive for a piece of software that does a good job, but only one job.

Still, the last analog-emulating EQ I had bought, was #Harrison #LegacyQ which unfortunately never really worked properly on my system due to GUI issues. While I like the SSL9000 analog EQ emulation in my #Mixbus10pro by Harrison, I don't really love any of their EQs for boosting frequencies in mastering.

The Sitral, which actually features 3 old Siemens broadcast EQ variants, does this better to my ears.

It's only real downside is that it consumes shitloads of CPU power, especially in HQ mode with oversampling.

So why did I buy?
1. It does what I need.
2. A native Linux version exists.

Other reasons to trigger a purchase decicion: Price is still bareable. Installation is easy. A free demo exists. No license dongle shit like #iLok.

My Go-To Open Source Audio Plugins

I almost gave up, because I just couldn’t find the time. 🫣 But today I finally managed to record a new #linuxaudio soliloquy #video. 😅

In this episode, I introduce my go-to #opensource #audio #plugin (s). 😎

Did any of you #linuxaudio #musicproducer (s) had the chance to check out QSynthi yet?

It sounds pretty interesting to me from the description. 🤔

The next #linuxaudio #developer #interview is up! 🙂

This time, I had the pleasure of talking to Giorgio Presti from Signal Perspective, the creator of Trailbender, Pyrite and Grindbox.

We discussed #noise, #glitchmusic, as well as #interdisciplinarity, and the fact that his #music, #soundart and #plugin development all stem from the same creative impulse.
