With all of the great audio plugins constantly coming out on a daily basis, it is good to go through & keep just the tools that you like the best. It is better to know a few tools well.

There's nothing wrong with using patches, of course, but I personally, am trying to focus on knowing my synths well and using them to their fullest.

I updated my list of audio plugins I use with Linux. There are now so many great apps available nowadays, that I weeded out many of worthy apps. I keep 1 or 2 of the best apps for any particular job (except for samplers -- I LOVE samplers) 😆

I have a #Pipewire question: I wanted to use a couple of meters through Carla, when listening to music on the Gnome Music app, and it seems, that everytime I change my tune, Pipewire drops the connection from Music to Carla, and resets to the speaker instead.

Would it be possible to lock the connection between Music and Carla when both apps are open?

After what feels like an age I opened up my DAW again to make some tunes.
Turns out lot of my old Windows VST GUIs don't work - which is fine as I have alternatives for most that are Linux native.

What I'm missing is a good synth, I used to use Massive a lot years ago and while I have SurgeXT and Vital now I'm lacking the huge amount of presets I had for massive.

Anyone able to point me to some good synths for Linux? Or somewhere to get more presets?

And what a night!

I have installed both the Surge XT synth and the Cardinal modular synth, both were already in the CachyOS repo ready for Pacman. Thanks to @MyLoFy for recommendations.

Then I found my Bitwig presetfolder, so I could drop @ambientspace's Bitwig-Grid preset inspired by Sherman Filterbank.

And last but not least, I spun up @polarity's new Multiband dynamics engine, which now has a running Linux Native version (Beta8).

#LinuxAudio is totally happening right now! I'm so lucky!

I'm the opposite of an early adopter, but what the #Ardour #DAW folks have put into version 9 released yesterday… it's a a huge leap for dawkind. 😅 Makes me want to upgrade.

I just documented a way to have a Session view & an Arranger view at the same time in Reaper.

This is nothing special really. There are other tools available that do this. The key difference, is that I wanted to have a way to do it, using just Reaper...& maybe a script.

Anyone who tells you that Reaper can't have a session view is wrong. :)
