Stand Of Trees

"And wakes the morning, from whose silver breast
The sun ariseth in his majesty;
Who doth the world so gloriously behold
That cedar-tops and hills seem burnish'd gold."
- #ShakespeareSunday, Venus and Adonis

"O, 'twas a din to fright a monster's ear,
To make an earthquake! sure, it was the roar
Of a whole herd of lions"
- #ShakespeareSunday, Tempest

Stratovolcano Eyjafjallajökull erupted in 2010, disrupting air traffic in northern and western Europe for a week.
Now, it's quiet. At its northern foot, many farms are working the fertile land.
Until the next time it roars.

North of Skógar and west of Mýrdalsjökull, southern #Iceland.

"Full many a glorious morning have I seen
Flatter the mountain-tops with sovereign eye,
Kissing with golden face the meadows green,
Gilding pale streams with heavenly alchemy"
- #ShakespeareSunday, Sonnet 33

Queen's View on Loch Tummel in the Tay Forest Park, Highland Perthshire, #Scotland.

In the distance is Schiehallion, the "Fairy Mountain."
This shot was taken in early Autumn, as the foliage was beginning to change.

"Lawn as white as driven snow;
Cyprus black as e'er was crow;
Gloves as sweet as damask roses;
Masks for faces and for noses"
- #ShakespeareSunday, Winter's Tale

Mid-March and Reynisfjara¹, the famous black beach in southern #Iceland, is completely deserted apart from ourselves.
Fiercely cold but exceptionally beautiful. Only the wailing of sea-birds and soft lapping of the waves disturbed the peace.

"Timon hath made his everlasting mansion
Upon the beached verge of the salt flood;
Who once a day with his embossed froth
The turbulent surge shall cover"
- #ShakespeareSunday, Timon of Athens

For #SilentSunday, this is the salt marsh near Leverburgh on Harris in the Outer Hebrides of #Scotland on a beautiful summer's day.
