This double reflection of Sun to outdoor windowpane to wall creates a final image on the wall that has a quality of a double-exposure, as though two images are superimposed, one on top of the other. The light coming into the room is mid-afternoon light, but the wintry time of year means this light is darker in value & has a significantly yellow glow to it, almost orange. The contrast to the ambient blueish light inside the room makes the sunlight appear even warmer on the wall. To the left of the bright rectangular shape is a sprig of thyme, now dried & left pinned to the wall for good vibes. The overall moment of the photo is high-contrast in feel, dark & light, quiet & loud. Yet, the sum of the parts of these contrasts yields a moment that is unexpectedly calm, content, & cosy.
