Cool Springs on Route 66 in Western Arizona. This is what it looked like ten years ago. Sadly, a new owner (I think), has completely trashed it out with garbage plastic souvenir displays and t-shirt racks in front of the building.

That is so sad, that someone ruined this place. Glad you've got this image to show what it used to look like, a fantastic place, and especially love the old fuel pumps 😍

@ambivalena Thanks! Ya, I've been by it a couple of times recently since this first stop in 2015. It is just gobs of display racks and junk surrounding the building now. It completely detracts from the nostalgic look. Back in 2015, the old guy that ran the place had a photo of himself & a pet roadrunner hanging on the wall. He said the bird still comes & visits. Hops up on the counter & hangs out. I would have loved to have seen that & gotten a photo, but the bird was not there that day.

That would really have been something to watch, and have a photo of. Funny bird, I wonder if that is common, that they seek out people like that?

@ambivalena I don't know, but I get the sense that they will get friendly with people if you throw them seeds or nuts. My friend, Wendy Miller, who lives way down in Southern California by the Mexican border / Salton Sea used to have a roadrunner "Rico" that would visit her backyard often.
