It started as a low effort "I can finish this in one afternoon" project, with finger-painted moon & splotchy stars. But I decided to add the animals so it ballooned into a week-long ordeal.

Today I felt somewhat sluggish and went to paint some water lilies. There was a windmill nearby that was famously painted by Monet once, which is probably why they planted those lilies there. Well, I tried something, not entirely sure if successful but i did push myself, there’s that.

Galaxy Gazing

I recent learned that because we are at the edge of our Milky Way galaxy, the view of night sky in the northern hemisphere shows both arms of our spiral galaxy. I tried to capture that in this painting.

This is my Notan study, which breaks Thomas Moran's painting The Golden Hour into 5 values, from light to dark.

This was also a good excuse to finally start learning #krita.
