For #MountainMonday: A photo from way back in 2013: wildflowers and a view of the Tatoosh Range from Mazama Ridge in Mount Rainier National Park, Washington State, USA. While Rainier gets all the attention, I almost preferred photographing the Tatoosh during my trips down there.

This photo was made at sunset, so there is sunset light on the mountain peaks and one small ridge with trees on it, with a leftover patch of snow in the shadows of that ridge.

Striations (2022)

I had just barely moved back to the #Edmonton area for a short work stint, and my sister and I already had made backpacking plans. We headed off into a lesser known area of the #CanadianRockies to explore an old route the settlers used to traverse the area. This #Mountain - the Sphinx as I came to know it - towered over the valley as we hiked the meadows. A wonderful welcome back to #Alberta

A monochrome image of the peak of the Sphinx Mountain in the Canadian Rockies. The clear sedimentary layers of the compressed rock can be seen, warped and tormented by the pressures of the earth as this mountain range formed. The late afternoon sun highlights the peaks adding extra contrast to the sharp layers.
