This remarkable essay documents the direct personal responsibility of Steve Baker, Sajid Javid, and Rishi Sunak for the global financial crash of 2008. Of course, they all personally profited hugely from it.

Baker, of course, was later the architect of the hard Brexit deal.

If we had sent them all to prison, as any rational state would have done, #Brexit would probably never have happened.

Can you believe the UK's Foreign & Commonwealth Office is complaining about a 'hardline' approach to post-Brexit residency rules by Sweden; have they no idea what the Home Office is doing with EU citizens?

Its a classic case of the UK's diplomatic problem; a skewed politics that looks like hypocrisy to anyone outside the UK's entitled political class who think the UK should just be allowed to act as it sees fit.

But the Guardian makes *this* link!

The Home Office has begun telling EU citizens their pre-settled status was granted "in error", threatening residency rights as five-year periods end. Campaigners like the3million warn thousands face losing jobs and homes, potentially breaching the EU Withdrawal Agreement. 🇪🇺 #Brexit theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

As the UK continues to talk about an EU 'reset' (although that's been less the case since the coronation of Andy Burnham), the Home Office has decided a number (currently in the hundreds) of EU citizens living in the UK & expecting to have their right to remain confirmed, are actually here (as the Home Office has concluded) illegally.

How this is going to play with those counties who's citizens now look to have their lives torn apart is unclear (as yet)

Well, I'm thrilled! As far as I know, this is the first instance of a copy of my #book being bought thanks to talking about it on Mastodon!
Now, who fancies being the second?

"Like Douglas Adams for the #Brexit age on acid"

Features cheeky digs at our government & former PM, UK working conditions and treatment of OAPs. All with endless ham baguettes, snarling black dogs and occasional and unexpected useage of the word "anus".
