the kids grow up and use drugs to cope in a system that offered them more health care and we jail them for using, leaving their kids neglected with aging grandparents

We have never protected child victims, we wait until they are adults and hold them accountable for the symptoms of being a victim who never got help #mentalillness #mutualaid #Healthcare formally #usa

"One of the hardest and most important conversations we will have as adult children is 'the talk' with parents about aging.

Sitting down to discuss giving up the car, moving out of the family home, planning for medical care and how an estate is going to be handled is uncomfortable at best."

This is the main reason employers don't want fundamental changes to the US healthcare system. Their share of the costs has increased heavily over the last two decades, but they love its impact on employee retention.

RE: thelounge.network/@LogicalApex…

indentured servitude is #slavery by #debt. #healthCare tied to #employment is an engineered debt.

the usa health care by employment is a form of indentured servitude. in other words:

EMPLOYMENT IN THE UNITED STATES IS A FORM OF DEBT SLAVERY.

doubly so if you have debt by #studentLoans.

#PuertoRico outlawed debt slavery because post-slavery plantation workers were locked into their jobs by debt ―always to the plantation owner― they couldn’t retire in bankruptcy.

like today's student loans.

So...the day has come. Kengo has had his left leg ACL tear repair surgery today. For those who don't know the story, he had had similar surgery on his right leg in early May. The vet says everything went well and he is ready to be picked up tomorrow. It will be another long recovery period to follow while this old dad's body will be abused while assisting him with mobility, etc.
I do hope this is the last surgery he needs🙏
