Today, I am more comfortable than yesterday.
Summer decided we should curl up for a short nap after thirty minutes of speed walking on the treadmill, moving as fast as it would go.
This treadmill doesn't go as fast as a real one, thank goodness. Summer is a dedicated personal trainer and was encouraging me the whole time.
She is an expert at napping and making her humans feel loved, too. A lab of many talents

Summer is consistent and loves to keep our scheduled activities on track.
This morning, she asked me if I ever get tired of our bouncing the ball down the stairs to grandma to throw it back game.
I said I never get tired of seeing her happy.
She said that isn't the same, but I think it is.
Now that I am old, I have narrowed down my life goals to three. I want to enjoy doing the things that make me the people and dog I love happy and healthy. Finding the joy in doing that keeps me going every day.

Summer has a new skill.
My husband has a stick that he uses sometimes to reach things he wants to move closer to him.
Now, when he asks Summer to bring him his stick, she fetches it immediately.
She is the best good girl and a huge help to her pal.

Summer has the right idea. It has been a super long day.
Good, though.
We found out that my husband is on the wrong antibiotics, so we are starting over with new meds. His introduction to his new primary care provider was all positive, which is a relief.
Summer passed her physical exam at the vet with flying colors. There was a dog that was about three times her size in the waiting room, so poor Summer gave it a wide berth. She almost merged with the wall on our way by, and she was shaking like a leaf, but she kept walking and didn't bark. She has never seen a dog that large.
I picked up my husband's new meds and chucked a pot roast with those little round potatoes and carrots in the oven.
Now, we are all ready to kick back and relax.

After hours spent taming our garden and the overgrown greenery too close to our rural road, Summer needs a break.
So we got all cozy and settled in for a chat. I was talking away when all of a sudden, I heard a soft snoring sound. Sure enough, she was asleep.
But before she crashed, I asked her how she felt about me taking her picture so often. I told her inquiring minds want to know. She says she is good with the camera but was curious why I want to take the pictures.
I had to think about why I take pictures. Most are scenery or flowers or whatever I see that registers beauty in my world. Mastodon has given me a venue for sharing, but truth be told, I have been taking pictures of what I love since I got my first camera.
I take so many photos of Summer simply because, to me, she is beautiful inside and out. She is an intelligent, kind, and gentle creature full of love. It's not about showing off her her physical beauty. She is photogenic, but that's just a bonus.

A Giant Dark Horsefly - Tabanus sudeticus, the largest fly in Europe
This was sat on a car in the rain, fortunately this one is a male, only the females bite and only when they need the extra protein to create eggs, the rest of the year like the male pictured the female feeds mainly on nectar.
