What's the outlook for the brain, long term?

"the risk of cognitive impairment (brain fog), seizures, dementia, psychosis, and other neurocognitive conditions persisted even for 2 years6. Furthermore, recent research by Kumari A. et al., has demonstrated a strong association between COVID-19 and neurodegeneration, raising the possibility that COVID-19 could play a part in the emergence of neurodegenerative illnesses in the future7."

How long is the current list of Long COVID suspects?

"Several interconnected factors contribute to the development of various health issues associated with SARS-CoV-2. These factors include the presence of spike proteins in cells and tissues, dysregulated immune systems, reactivation of latent pathogens such as human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), changes in the microbiota and virome caused by SARS-CoV-2, autoimmune responses triggered by self-antibodies, microvascular clotting that leads to endothelial dysfunction, and disruptions in the brainstem and/or vagus nerve2."

"The article showcases the evidence that mitochondrial dysfunction is a major aftermath associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection as the impaired Mitochondria leads to an accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), triggering endothelial dysfunction, and leading to the passage of harmful molecules across the BBB."

STUDY: Even in young individuals who predominantly experienced only mild forms of the infection, a gradual decline in health and fitness can occur over a span of four years post-infection. Some negative trendsā€”at least in menā€”began to stabilize or even reverse during the 4th year, whereas in women, these trends showed no such improvement. The long-term public health impacts of #COVID19 may be more severe and affect a much broader population than is commonly assumed.

I wasn't going to post this study because, duh, vaccines work. Then an idiot posted how Long #COVID19 was caused by the vaccine and not infection, so...

STUDY: Vaccinated individuals had a lower rate of all-cause death during 2021-2023 in Norway. In all age groups, the rate of death was lowest among those that were fully vaccinated and highest among those that were unvaccinated.
