The fact that some people who loathe Musk/Trump still find it difficult to leave Twitter/X shows the danger of signing up on a centralised platform where the network is controlled by one person or org. You are chaining yourself to a network with no idea who it may be sold to in the future, and every follower you get on that network reinforces those chains.
