I can’t say I’m fond of everything they’ve done, but in the world of “we care about using Graph with #O365 #Exchabge” this is starting to gain steam. I’m resisting g the fork, but I’m curious what the team has to say on the subject.

Es gibt also ein #Thunderbird-Add-on für MPE?--Genial, denn ich synche u.a. auch SMS & Co.

Dann müsste TB aber auch Kontakte und Termine verwalten können, denn Mails synchen macht fast keinen Sinn.

...Problem. Betreibe ich meinen eigenen Server, kann ich nie im Leben den gleichen Sicherheitslevel erreichen.

Es gibt z.B. von einem deutschen Programmierer eine Lösung für eine Alternative zu einenm OL-Exhange-Server für KMU mit wenigen Clients.--Wäre aus diesem Grund nichts für mich (und ich muss die Kontakte und Kalenderdaten auch nicht für mehrere Personen zur Verfügung...

Ich habe keinen Raspberry PI. Von dem, was ich gelesen habe, lässt sich "so gut wie alles" damit anfangen.

Dein Vorschlag klang danach, einen Mini-Server auf einem Raspberry aufzusetzen. Jeder Server hat naturgemäß auch eine Verbindung zum WWW und muss entsprechend gesichert werden.--Lade ich Daten lediglich von meinen (großen) Providern (mit Firewalls) herunter, habe ich diesbezüglich kein großes...

Es kann doch nicht sein, dass es 27 Jahre(!) nach der Einführung von MS OL keinen vollwertigen Ersatzu gibt, insbesondere aus dem FOSS-Bereich, oder?

potentielle Sicherheitslücken.

Das Herunterladen von den Providern (E-Mails) und die Offline-Verwendung auf einem Rechner (mit Synch aufs Smartphone, one-way) reicht völlig aus. Kein technischer Overkill.

Wenn ein Programm nicht den grundlegenden Leistungsumfang bietet (Mails, Kontakt- und Terminverwaltung), dann ist es per definitionem kein Ersatz, - Mehr Programme, die dann noch mit einander kommunizieren müssen...

Danke für den Einwurf.

Allerdings: für mich sind Kalender und Kontakte (mit Kategorisierungen(!)) das A und O eines OL-Ersatzes. Weitere Geräte will ich nicht. Ich verwende schon zu viel Zeit für IT. - IT soll Zeit sparen, nicht kosten. Ich habe natürlich keinen Exchange-Server und will auch keine weitere Infrastruktur. IT muss wieder einfacher werden.

Für Server gilt: haddu Server, haddu Probleme.--Und außerdem...

Da mein Kleinweich-Abo bald abläuft und ich keine Lust auf KI-gestützte Ausspähung habe, wechsle ich nach vielen Jahren weg von MS (mehrere Mailkonten, unterschiedliche Anbieter). Zudem möchte ich weiterhin OHNE Cloud meine Termine und Kontakte mit Android-Smartphone synchen können (hierzu FOSS im Einsatz, jedoch nur für OL kompatibel).

Über die Jahre kam immer wieder #Thunderbird in die Diskussion, was meint Ihr?!?
