Google yet again delays killing third-party cookies in Chrome. Here's what you need to know
Google now hopes to start phasing out third-party cookies in early 2025, instead of late 2024 as previously planned.Lance Whitney (ZDNET)
Google Pushes Unpopular Chrome Update
"After an update in June this year, a feature called the WebRequest API will be removed, and the adblockers and tracker blockers that depend on this feature will stop working. Since the business model of Google is to track your online activity and then show you personalised ads, it is not difficult to see why this feature is removed.
(...) they are forcing the same update on all Chromium browsers as well."
Instead of blowing a shitload of donation money on #AI bs, how about you actually focus on what really matters, @mozilla ?
Like:
- making #Firefox great and not a marginally less shitty browser compared to #Google #Chrome / #GoogleChrome...
- making @thunderbird / #Thunderbird a really good #mail client and not a marginally less shitty #eMail program than #Microsoft #Outlook / #MicrosoftOutlook and #Apple Mail #AppleMail ...
Seriously:
- log off
- get outside
- touch grass
- take a good and long sleep
- rethink what you just posted
- undo the harm you just did.
Sincerely,
A longterm Firefox and Thunderbird user.

The #Incognito Mode #Myth Has Fully Unraveled
To settle a years-long lawsuit, #Google has agreed to delete “billions of data records” collected from users of “Incognito mode,” illuminating the pitfalls of relying on #Chrome to protect your #privacy.
