The more I shoot medium format Washi, the more I love the results. I still need to figure out how to have more light, but I love the way the paper creates a metallic sheen to the images. It was also incredible fun working with Jubelia after a year of trying to organise it.

Scarecrow Video in #Seattle, who hold one of the largest physical media archives in the US at nearly 150,000 titles, is in a _do or die_ fundraising campaign to be able to stay in operation. So much of what they have is not available via streaming; so keeping them open helps keep tons of important #film and #TV from falling into the memory hole. And by the way, they now offer rent by mail, so you don't need to be a local to take advantage of their archive!

A friend worked in printer/plotter service for a long time. He picked up 3D printing, 3D design, and Photoshop stuff as a hobby. He made the designs for these lightsabers for himself, printed them, painted them - There's no metal in this picture.

At the start of the year I edited together a Creative Commons-licensed soundtrack for silent film "Wings" (1927), the first ever movie to win the Oscar for Best Picture. The idea was to create a version that is watchable but also available to freely distribute online.

Most of my Washi nudes are not suitable for the Meta-verse, and they rely so much on texture that I see no point in censoring them. So I will only share them here. I really find their texture fascinating, but would be curious to hear what you think.

This image is part of my Photosynthesis exhibition opening tomorrow in Nantes, at La Lame Vernie Coffee in Trentemoult. It was shot during COVID semi-lockdown in Hong Kong, when both myself and Nelly (the model) had recently been through our stints of quarantine. That rough common experience brought us together creatively for a shoot I will always remember.
