New instance, new #introduction time.
Formerly intrepidhero@vmst.io.
I post a lot of #hiking, #mountaineering, and #caturday pictures, #cooking, #gardening, #diy projects, esoteric #programming and grumpy #tech and #design thoughts, and #poetry, both my own and attributed. I like #scifi and #fantasy and when I post about politics it will get a CW.
Posts are meant to be ephemeral. Anything I want to keep up long term will end up on my website.

If you're a person who uses an #AI tool to help you write stuff, and you the " "author" " are not reviewing and revising it, you are the problem with AI tools.
The "it works, who cares" attitude I keep seeing by people I know personally, and who have less #programming know-how than my dumb ass, is why it will take much longer than it likely could for any of these AI tools to be able to do what these sorta folk think they already can do.

Honestly this is pretty different to what I read in many articles regarding #AI #Code.
They mentioned errors, bad performance & such.
However if it is already used in production and he as a professional evaluating it, is saying it's better than him...
That same day I also talked to somebody that got hired to train an #LLM. His interview was with that companies chatbot, that offered him over 120$ per hour, a roughly 500% increase from his previous job 🤣

Figured i should probably bring this to a larger audience. For those who don't know, programming by voice is absolutely possible if you have physical issues and it's not horrible either.
With the help of Talon you can handle any weird punctuation - OR - custom words which is also useful if you're a fiction writer.
I support Talon on Patreon as a form of insurance. I want it to be around in case I need it some day.

@cstross@wandering.shop @jabgoe2089@hub.netzgemeinde.eu So, yes BUTTT I'd encourage you to watch this talk from 2019 by Emily Sea. She programs using Talon speech-to-text because of severe wrist pain.masukomi (Connectified)
