Summer really likes wearing her collar. If we take it off of her, she will track it down and bring it to one of us. She practically begs to wear it.
Since the skunk incident, we only put the red one on when we were away from home so she could wear her license. We couldn't get the skunk smell out of it, so it has to go.
Today, new collars arrived, and she chose the purple one.
She loves it.
I did buy extra collars in blue and red because obviously things happen, and she might need a reserve option.
Things are getting back to normal.

Cookie got a clean bill of health from the vet, who saved her when she had a close shave last month! She said Cookie is doing really well, though her issues are still ‘a ticking time bomb’. We are hoping we can manage them medically and keep her happy and comfy before that happens. I’m really glad to have extra time with her.

Summer and I took a tour of the garden to assess how the plants fared with our recent storm.
Everything got Summer's approval.
It was a slow tour because she had to smell all the roses and there were lots of roses.

I've been quite smitten by Heelers lately. While cattle dogs tend to be few and far between at sheepdog trials, I did manage to snap a few nice shots of some spectators at the 2024 National Sheep Dog Trial Championships (wow, that name is a real mouthful).

This is Martyn. His calm appearance is belied by his pricked ears, which reveal his true state of alertness. While I may be projecting a little, his expression says to me: 'Why is the guy I was playing with just moments ago, now sitting out of reach pointing a giant camera at me?'. While I'm sure he would rather we had kept playing, I feel he is resigned to the fact that sometimes humans are just weird.

Sorry it took so long for a #FosterDog update but these two are a handful when not in a couch coma. We had to empty out our family room because they will get into EVERYTHING. Otherwise they are well behaved little raptors that need a lot of attention.
