We’re excited to announce that, from Monday, we’re going to be the new admins of IndieWeb.social!
We’ve always loved how @tchambers has run IndieWeb.social. His direction has made it one of the best instances on the Fediverse!
Thanks to Tim for his trust in us to provide a safe and secure home for the server into the future.

The Next Stage for Indieweb.Social
Indieweb.social is a six-year-old. Launched only 3 years after Mastodon 1.0 itself did, give or take.Over the last two years, it was clear to me as the owner and admin that it was growing and would either need to find some form of new structure to ta…www.timothychambers.net
It's been a few years since I built my website using Jekyll. It's starting to get stale. I learned a lot about IndieWeb while setting up, so I don't regret using it!
But the overhead of the build is starting to get to me. Longing for something that I perceive as simpler - paid services like micro.blog or omg.lol - or maybe 11ty. Not sure I can give up control to a paid service for my main site.

The Fediverse Isn’t the Future. It’s the Present We’ve Been Denied.
For years, the internet has been shrinking. Not in size, not in data, but in ownership. A vast, decentralized network of personal blogs, forums, and independent communities has been corralled into a handful of paved prison yards controlled by a few m…Joan Westenberg (westenberg.)
I'm procrastinating right now. So, I wrote a post about procrastinating.

Now, I'm procrasti-tooting about my procrasti-blogging.
Wanna procrastinate with me by reading the post? You can tell me what you thought about it so I can procrasti-read and procrasti-respond to your comments.
Thanks!
This Post is Me Procrastinating
I've got other things I need to do. But instead, I'm going to procrastinate by writing a post about procrastinating by writing a post.shellsharks
I've been thinking for a while about adding comments to my blog by pulling them from other sources (like Mastodon replies) but I figured I was going to have to write some complicated logic to fetch them, save them to a cache, and invalidate them periodically.
I just noticed that's the *entire* thing eleventy-fetch already does! I am very excited to try this out sometime soon.
I've complettely revamped my site again! It's now #BuiltWithEleventy and has a proper blog with a tagging system and everything!

I have my reservations about whether or not blogs (specifically my blog) should federate content via ActivityPub. Isn’t RSS enough?

Does my blog need to support ActivityPub?
