His experiences and poetry would be immortalized in 'Oku-no-Hosomichi' (ๅฅฅใฎ็ดฐ้“ 'The Narrow Road to the Deep North'.

The Aoi Matsuri (่‘ต็ฅญ) is one of the oldest festivals in the world.

It dates to the the reign of Emperor Kinmei (ๆฌฝๆ˜Žๅคฉ็š‡ 509-71), when a series of crop-destroying storms were attributed to the Kamo deities (่ณ€่Œ‚ใฎ็ฅž), angry at the lack of respect shown to them by the people.

Koinobori - Chiba Carp Streamers

Cities and villages across Japan hold koinobori (carp-streamers) festivals in celebration of Childrenโ€™s Day, May 5th. The koinobori are said to represent good health, happiness and success as a result of the courage and strength of the carp to swim upstream.
