Here’s an interesting example. This is a government agency tasked with defending digital rights in #Belgium:

As you can see, they don’t merely have a link to their FB account. They actually direct the public to go to #Facebook and #MS #LinkedIn to get /public/ information (that is, info intended for the general public). I am blocked from the publications on that page because I do not have FB or LinkedIn.
WTF.
public money → public agency → private #walledgarden.

I’m really curious how LinkedIn thinks feeding off others work without fair compensation helps to “create economic opportunity”.

LinkedIn is training AI on you — unless you opt out with this setting
The professional network now by default grants itself permission to use anything you post to train its artificial intelligenceChris Velazco (The Washington Post)
Not very cool #LinkedIn for turning on the ability to consume user data for generative AI training by default and making it opt-out. It’s almost like the product manager knew that if it was opt-in no one would turn it on.
More shame for labeling the feature as “Data for Generative AI Improvement” because with the vast piles of cringe posts on LinkedIn, that content will only make the gen AI even worse.
To opt out of this:
Settings->Data Privacy->Data for Generative AI Improvement
#LinkedIn is not familiar with the concept of "#privacy by default"
Suggest everyone check their settings. https://lnkd.in/efq-wHms
