There's something heartbreaking, bittersweet, but also, in a way, oddly hopeful in Charlie Brown's depression and the inevitable isolation and loneliness it brings. His inability to feel joy when others celebrate, and the sense of not belonging that comes with it. In him finding value and significance, and maybe even a little bit of empathy for the small, frail tree that nobody else wanted ("I think it needs me"). The ending and the beauty of accepting and loving different and imperfect things (and people) just as they are. The score by Vince Guaraldi.

My son and I kicked off the Christmas movie season with the Christmas action movie classic Violent Night. This was his first time watching this movie. We both laughed throughout this movie and had a great time watching it. He said he enjoyed it.

The family just ordered a new Christmas tree. Our old one has been with us since the kids were tiny toddlers -- they're late teens now. This new one is 7' tall, the old one was 6'
Tonight we'll put up the old tree one last time, but without ornaments, just the star. We'll take it down next weekend after the new one arrives and we'll get that one put up.
