Yes, I took a *lot* of ranunculus photos. Can you blame me?

The birds and bees are loving our blooming rhododendrons. The huge one next to our house produces a constant hum and was was home to not one but two bird nests this year. Bees and hummingbirds will dive bomb us if we get too close.
This rhody is about twenty feet from the 25' behemoth rhody and less hazardous to approach.
Yesterday I raked and raked to get the sticky blossoms off the grass. Poor Summer gets them stuck to her feet and belly. She has to patiently allow me to pick it all off before she can come inside.
It looks like more raking needs to happen today.

We were watering the garden and I noticed a lot of flowers were blooming. So I went around and got some pictures. My wife grew everything from seed.

I thought I'd share a little bloom scrolling to overcome the doom scrolling.

Have a wonderful night! πŸŒ‰

There's something magical about a walk in light rain; a sense of intimacy, a note of vulnerability.

Sharing a couple small discoveries from today. Stay safe.

Poet's narcissus always look to me like little blousy-maned aliens crooning and craning their tiny heads towards the sun. #bloomscrolling

I started a bunch of marigolds, pansies and violas this year.
An inexpensive colorful way to brighten up the front of our house and some easy gifts for friends.
I am so happy with the results.
A few will find their way to new homes tomorrow for Mother's Day.

We bought a Persian Shield yesterday, among some other plants.

It will be planted in a tall pot with a sweet potato vine that has lime green leaves, and a dahlia.
This plant is a Persian Shield (Strobilanthes dyerianus), recognizable by its iridescent purple leaves featuring deep green veining.

I got to see my physical therapist this morning. She’s magical. She laughed when she saw my hair when I sat up after the neck massage. She can mess up my hair any day. And it’s an absolutely gorgeous day here. Peak magnolia.
