Here, take some flowers because tomorrow is Monday.
This is my chaos gardening. The second photo is Palmer's penstemon, my favorite. They are TALL, smells divine, and bees love them.

We are getting so much enjoyment from our roses this year. At one time we had them growing all around the house but I moved them to the front one at a time. Now the deer leave them alone because they don't want to run into Summer.
It is easier to keep up Summer's front acre and leave the rest of the acres to be empty fields.

The lupins this year only first opened last weekend, and are now fairly prolific already! Will have to keep an eye out for Dennis Moore…

My showy milkweed just bloomed, and yes, she's showing off.

Today's farmers market still had plenty of ranunculus β€” but also other flowers, like this strawflower and statice combination.

I've had this huge pot of tangly hoya pubicalyx for years. It's vigorous and healthy. Never flowered, until last year apparently -- I say that because I never got to see them. I found the dried flower remains behind the pot, and yes I was upset that I missed it! But this year I didn't. Look at this fuzzy flowers. I didn't know they looked like this. Nature is truly amazing.

I had some time off in lieu due me, so I accepted a friend's offer to check out the tulip farm this morning, which was lovely.

Adding more colour to my feed today, because you can never go wrong with #purple. #BloomScrolling

One of the grandkids came by this morning so I could run down to the Humboldt Botanical Garden. My son has a dogwood tree with a placque dedicated to his memory on the main trail. I try to get there, at least once a year, while it's blooming.
Sometimes it works out.
Like today.
His tree is gorgeous.
Much of the garden is in bloom.
The staff and volunteers do a fantastic job and are almost too friendly. It felt rude to rush away as the gate keeper was a talker.
I took bunches of pictures to share with my husband. The trail would be more than he can manage but he likes to see what I see.

Quince flowers. I remain hopeful that I will get fruit one day. When we bought this plant, it had a single beautiful fruit on it. That must have been about 10 years ago now. Still no new fruit since we brought it home. And that one that was on it: my dog ate it.

My daughter's garden is planned out so there is year around color. She takes the plants footprint into consideration so everything has its space to shine.
Colors are coordinated.
Totally unlike my garden of haphazard planting of random and mismatched pots.
We both love our gardens and recognize that we approach our same hobby differently.
I brought her my compost buckets and recycling. At the same time I picked up the many packages of my husband's medical supplies that had been delivered to her house.
Our lives are greatly intertwined.
I wondered around her garden. It's not dahlia time yet but I found something to toot.

#WesternTrillium.
This is an older Western trillium, in urban forest. They're usually all white. As they get older(takes many years), you'll see shades of pink & purple petals.
Please never disturb Western trilliums in the wild. They are extremely sensitive native plants & need to be left alone to visually admire. Western trillium takes up to 15 years to flower. Once it has been picked/heavily disturbed, it dies. Please leave them growing πŸ™

I imagine no one will be sad to hear that the flower folks at the farmers market were mostly selling ranunculus today.

Everytime I use our lawnmower I have to clear away anything that blocks the air vents.
So I crawl around under the deck while Summer watches.
Today while I was on the ground I looked up at these.
Wow!
Our red climbing rose is really taking off for the first time.

In the greenhouse today...

Mammillaria surculosa: the colour of the flowers matches their wonderful scent of lemons.

Mammillaria cobrensis: like many in this genus it produces a ring of flowers that continues in succession for many weeks.
