I regret buying Twitter Blue for this month, but at the end of it I will officially come off Twitter and switch FULLY over to both Mastodon and Bluesky!

You must be kidding me, Jason.
Too early to celebrate, my dude

I have no idea how to react to stuff like this. I personally had an expirience when it was proved that Mastodon is trans-friendly, isn't it?
Well, no matter how much will it make you mad (it will make you mad), looks like according to this Bluesky post below, Mastodon isn't trans-friendly.
(While the author doesn't says it directly, they are saying that Mastodon's community is racist to black transgender people.....have no words how double-stupid that is)

"Infra stack: from AWS to on-prem. AWS was becoming too costly, so #Bluesky moved over to dedicated data centers and bare-metal machines."
That's not something you read every day.

Building Bluesky: a Distributed Social Network (Real-World Engineering Challenges)
Bluesky is built by around 10 engineers, and has amassed 5 million users since publicly launching in February this year. A deep dive into novel design decisions, moving off AWS, and more.Gergely Orosz (The Pragmatic Engineer)
Abso-fuckin-lutely! Idk how they're calling this "decentralized". Then only thing that's decentralized is your profile info and follow relationships...🤦♂️
Matthew Exon has written
"what bothers me about Bluesky. There is implicitly a censorship regime being implemented here, and it must necessarily be centralised. There must be a single set of decisions affecting everyone in the world. Those decisions are being made by an American company bound by American laws, which in turn are decided by the American people participating in American democracy."

Twitter alternative Post News is shutting down
Post News, a Twitter alternative run by the former Waze CEO Noam Bardin, is shutting down. Bardin says the platform “is not growing fast enough.”Emma Roth (The Verge)
People are actually on BlueSky
There's now a decent measurement of #bluesky user numbers (https://bskycharts.edavis.dev/edavis.dev/bskycharts.edavis.dev/bsky_users_total.html) ...
They've got about 1.6M MAUs ...
& 0.8M Weekly unique users & 0.340M Daily.
That's not nothing!
Roughly double mastodon and 60% more than the whole fediverse (by MAUs, see fedidb.org).
Bluesky is quite "international" with large Japanese and Brazilian popltns, and there's real attrition happening IMO.
Still, let the protocol wars begin I suppose?
The Orange Puffer, also known as the Bottom-feeding Liar Fish. It is avoided by all marine creatures since it poisons the waters around itself.
Oh fediverse are you getting worse? Even this cat is not enjoying the experience. So sad that I have to scroll several pages on the Mastodon timeline just to get to couple of "real" posts
Bluesky
✅ [discover timeline] less links, actual posts from users and many discussions. Maybe better moderation?
Mastodon
❌ [live feed timeline] filled with so many links to news, politics before seeing actual content

An update on and description of #BlueSky distributed capabilities, including a long segment on distributed labeling and moderation, and how the way #Mastodon / #Fediverse handles it promotes contention on this platform.
I always say, there’s a lack of focus on technology serving users here, with instances being the primary focus, and that’s a shame.
Why Bluesky Remains The Most Interesting Experiment In Social Media, By Far
These days, everyone hates big tech, and that’s often for very good reasons. You shouldn’t trust giant centralized companies that have collected a ridiculous amount of data on you. There are few re…Techdirt
Plugins for fediverse platforms.
Where is this up to? Is anyone thinking along these lines?
I've seen @db0 espouse such (eg https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/comment/8581651) (sorry for the tag if annoying).
I've certainly thought of it myself ... because it's a pretty obvious idea for an ecosystem aiming for richness and sustainability.
Seems a perfect fit for reusable moderation tooling too, rather than each new platforms having that trouble.
This is essentially #bluesky 's idea it seems.
📞 Introducing voice & video call for the Fediverse ✨
Sora is a futuristic Fediverse client for Mastodon, Bluesky, Misskey, Pleroma all in one. Comes with local ML to curate posts and the For You timeline.
In the next update V10, Sora allows you to have a Peer-to-Peer call using Fediverse credentials.
Demo video:

So @potus has joined the #Fediverse but not #Bluesky.
That’s quite a political statement!
