For #MountainMonday: A photo from way back in 2013: wildflowers and a view of the Tatoosh Range from Mazama Ridge in Mount Rainier National Park, Washington State, USA. While Rainier gets all the attention, I almost preferred photographing the Tatoosh during my trips down there.

This photo was made at sunset, so there is sunset light on the mountain peaks and one small ridge with trees on it, with a leftover patch of snow in the shadows of that ridge.

The #canyon of the #Piva River in #Montenegro near #Mratinje - very close to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina - for #MountainMonday. Unfortunately we were only passing through the country, and didn't spend much time in Bosnia-Herzegovina either, but this region is so lush and wild and beautiful, I wish we could go again and explore more!

A wide, slightly high-angle shot shows a dramatic mountain gorge with a turquoise river flowing through it, as seen from a bridge. The foreground features a bright blue metal railing of the bridge, which runs horizontally across the lower portion of the frame. The bridge itself has a grey concrete surface visible just below the railing. Beyond the railing, the view plunges down into a deep canyon. Steep, rocky mountain slopes rise on either side, covered in patches of green vegetation, mostly trees and shrubs. The rock faces are a mix of grey and light brown, showing signs of erosion and geological layering. At the bottom of the gorge, a vibrant turquoise river snakes its way through. A small, white structure with a dark roof appears to be situated on the riverbank or perhaps a small island within the river. It's funny how we will sometimes pass by a location a dozen times and not give it a second thought until the right light or conditions present.

While snowshoeing last week in the #Vancouver #Mountains I came to a spot freshly covered in snow, that I've never seen without its usual trail. I would never have thought to take a photo here had it not been for the fresh snowfall covering all indication that a path laid here.

A series of snow and rhime covered trees stand on a freshly snowed hillside in the North shore mountains of Vancouver. The sun just breaking through the clouds cast subtle shadows. And the clouds in the background whip up with the winds and temperature change caused by the Sun. Creating drama in the sky. A distant snow covered rockledge and peak can be seen to the far right. And an indication of the far valley below can be seen briefly between some of the larger trees.
