To make the moon a graveyard goes against the beliefs of various human religions.

Here’s a look at what believers would say about this winter’s attempt to send a probe holding the remains of paying customers to the lunar surface

Some said the priest avatar was inappropriate, misleading, or just plain creepy. Some said the priest simulated virtual sacraments — indeed, “Fr. Justin” gladly heard The Pillar’s, “confession,” before giving some spiritual guidance and reciting the words of absolution. And some said that an AI apologetics project leans too heavily into unreliable, controversial, and still-confusing technology.

It is one thing to take inspiration from ancient religious texts.

It is a completely different thing to take them literally.

If the authors of those texts had known what we know today about physics, cosmology and evolution their messaging would likely have been quite different.

We live on a rare, small planet in the habitable zone of a stable star.

We are part of nature and have an extended family of millions of species.

All we need to do, is fit in.
