Today's farmers market still had plenty of ranunculus — but also other flowers, like this strawflower and statice combination.

#WesternTrillium.
This is an older Western trillium, in urban forest. They're usually all white. As they get older(takes many years), you'll see shades of pink & purple petals.
Please never disturb Western trilliums in the wild. They are extremely sensitive native plants & need to be left alone to visually admire. Western trillium takes up to 15 years to flower. Once it has been picked/heavily disturbed, it dies. Please leave them growing 🙏

I imagine no one will be sad to hear that the flower folks at the farmers market were mostly selling ranunculus today.
We were watering the garden and I noticed a lot of flowers were blooming. So I went around and got some pictures. My wife grew everything from seed.
I thought I'd share a little bloom scrolling to overcome the doom scrolling.
Have a wonderful night! 🌉
It's California poppy season! These caught my eye as I drove down a local road I hadn't been down before.
Fresh out in our garden yesterday - so showy, but so lovely too.

The final bud has blossomed on our moth orchid (𝘗𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘱𝘴𝘪𝘴 sp.)! And the first flower, which bloomed two months ago, is still going strong.
Today's farmers market had a lot of ranunculus, including more of the bright yellow one with maroon striping!
Soon, my pretties. Soon.

Lot of pink magnolias around town but not many yellow. I've one nearby but it's small & its blooms brown before opening. Happy to find this one in its prime earlier this month but it's on the other side of town so I don't catch it every yr.
There's so much #BloomScrolling going on around me I hardly know where to begin. Prepare for a thread! Of #Flowers! 🧵🌷
Well, *that* was an exciting morning. Went to get my routine mammogram and discovered I'd booked it for April 27, 2027 by mistake. Fortunately, the scheduler was able to fit me in today, even at the time I had thought I'd booked.
Lovely orchids at the medical center reception desk.
It's that time of year! 🌼 Some fun saguaro facts:
- Saguaros do not begin blooming until they are at least 30-35 years old
- Each flower is only open for 18-24 hours
- Saguaros appear to flower in a counter-clockwise direction, with buds first appearing on the east side, then the north, and then the west

They're still selling ranunculus at the farmers market — and here's one in colors I've never seen before.
