Went to check out the venue for my next gallery show and was so pleased to see the building adorned with a #BLM banner and another one for the Embracing Our Differences annual event we have here in town.

This has been my consistent experience living in what looks from the outside to be a very backwards part of the country. Just a reminder that what you see in the news is never the whole story. #Florida

Out of all of the samples I’ve collected around the country, #Florida clays have been the most difficult to incorporate into my work. From what I’ve read, even Indigenous Floridians (especially coastal south) had to find unusual ways to work with the #clay, including adding cattail fur and sea sponge spicules.

I’m persevering because I want to make art that helps other Floridians appreciate our unique geology. I’ve learned so much just from handling and processing it. But boy is it weird.

#Florida state rep Angie Nixon was among the lawmakers again demanding an oversight visit in Alligator Auschwitz.

Under normal circumstances, of course, this would simply be her job. In the current conditions, with lawmakers of color being assaulted and illegally arrested by goons, this is a very brave act of defiance.

Kat Cammack, a Florida Republican, struggled to get care for an ectopic pregnancy due to her state’s abortion ban.

Is she fighting to change the ban? Talking about those who’ve lost their lives?

No. She’s blaming the left. Saying it’s pro abortion “fear mongering” that caused the delay.

She’s blaming the very people who’ve been trying to save her & those like her.

Her delay was caused by healthcare workers fearing criminal prosecution.

They can’t intervene until it’s clear the life of the mother is in jeopardy.

It’s a horribly difficult judgment call no healthcare worker should ever be forced to make.

Shame on Kat for not taking her experience and using it to save lives.
