RE: masto.ai/@transworld/116625169…

This article is talking about the UK press; I wonder if the results would be the same for the press here in the USA.

Note that The Guardian, which does such good work in many fields, is not good at all when it comes to trans issues.

#StephenColbert’s top-rated late-night TV program goes off the air for the final time Thursday, effectively silencing a high-profile #Trump critic.

β€œThe legacy of this show needs to be that we remember it as the show that was canceled because a presidential administration wanted it off the air,” says Heather Hendershot, a professor of #communication studies & #journalism at Northwestern University.

A compact article that contains actual information on the topic and voices of the people who are in this situation and some photos that are relevant to the event. That’s #journalism.

Leaving X.

German parties leaving, collectively, is more than a symbolic exit. It is a chance to reassess how and where political communication happens.

A platform’s relevance is not inherent. It is constructed through user behavior. And when influential users walk, the relevance begins to erode.

Sebastian Gorka accused a ProPublica reporter of writing a β€œputrid piece of hackery” about him. Here’s how basic beat reporting led to a broader story about the state of the U.S. counterterrorism mission at a critical moment.

Oh ffs. In 2026 alone dozens of journalists have been killed, murdered, by Israel, Russia and the USA. The White House has at the best of times been silent on this, and at other times actively argued the murdered journalists were at fault.

The reporters / journalists reporting on "the white house" barely questioned this.

And now you're the victim? For an event where in the end nothing happened, and with anything extremely unlikely to happen in the first place? Fuck off.
