I'm looking for good resources for learning POSIX compliant shell scripting. So far I have found not much that hasn't been written with AI or just isn't very in depth. I can easily find specific stuff, but I'd love a general guide of some sort.
I found one that seemed like it would be fantastic, then found out it was made using Claude.
I haven't done a lot of sh in a while, and my partner wants to learn, so it would be great to have some quality resources.
Thank you to anyone who can help me out.
Edit: bash stuff is good too, but I prefer to avoid bashisms when possible

I love the feeling of licking a tech problem - in this case, audio disappeared from Kdenlive (Linux video editor)
I installed a virtual audio patchbay and discovered it was going to the wrong device. Now fixed.
I knew my knowledge of audio routing was deficient, and now I'm slightly better armed for future problems.
(The solution, by the way, was to find which audio systems I was using (inxi -xA pointed me to Pipewire), then install qpwgraph and drag the Kdenlive outputs to my main audio interface inputs.)
Thanks for the information. 🎹

Ok, just purchased a simple dedicated laptop (7730U with 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD) to do - finally and again - some testing with Linux.
I would like to run Bitwig Studio at first and perhaps Reaper as well. Most lightweight would be nice to try as also a version with some more dedicated apps and a more streamlined user experience.
I was thinking of Mint / Ubuntu - but perhaps there better alternatives nowadays? Does anyone (in my feed perhaps) has some tips?
When we're talking about #Linux, I expect a plugin to work with every Linux distribution, NOT just #Debian-based (.deb) ones! 😟
