Discovered this morning that Maven https://heymaven.com (a social media startup who's CEO is ex OpenAI "Ken Stanley: leading the Open-Endedness Team at OpenAI") is mass importing public posts from the #fediverse with no links back to the original and no way to delete them. It seems there is no Opt-out or Opt-in mechanism at all. It also has posts from #Bluesky pulled in via @bsky.brid.gy that are also not linked back to the original.
Here's an example: https://app.heymaven.com/profile/66927
The great #MastodonMigration after the #TwitterTakeover was accompanied by many helpful tools to find followers worth following.
With #Threads federating (partially) and #Bluesky bridged, I think we need new ones now. Are there any?

moderation isn't done on the PDS level, is it? I thought it was done seperately by moderation policies that each user can subscribe to?🤔 I'll tag this post and maybe we can get some answers.
Anyone have their #Fediverse servers bridging with #BlueSky at the moment? Have there been any technical difficulties, and can you choose which #ATProtocol #PDSes you can bridge to (as opposed to only the "main" PDS, bsky.app)?
I'm considering the pros and cons of bridging my ActivityPub instance to BlueSky PDSes except the "main" one, bsky.app.
It looks like I can even self-host a PDS now that they've dropped their ridiculous Discord requirement: https://docs.bsky.app/blog/self-host-federation

Was sollte man da einmal im Blick behalten?
And also in english:
The Fediverse is growing: After Threads, Bluesky can also be linked to Mastodon
First Threads accounts can be opened for Mastodon, now this is also possible - even in both directions - with Bluesky. This makes interesting scenarios possible.

#Bluesky has finally introduced their first version of Direct Messages, a feature the community has long asked for.
https://wedistribute.org/2024/05/bluesky-introduces-dms/
Bluesky Introduces Direct Messages
A recent update to Bluesky introduces a long-requested feature of the platform: Direct Messages! According to the developers, this implementation is pretty limited: messages are not end-to-end encryptSean Tilley (We Distribute)
UI differences are a big factor in the success/failure of decentralised federation of diverse platforms and content
And this seems a good example: bridged #mastodon posts onto #BlueSky which has a lower character limit than Mastodon.
So, just like #lemmy posts on mastodon, you don't get the full content of the post (which ends with an abrupt ellipsis here) and have to take a link to the original platform.
However powerful the underlying protocols, this isn't far from screenshots.
Bluesky now allows you to unpin or even remove the default "Following" feed and make any other custom feed the default one.
The "Following" feed is the chronological one by Bluesky but there's thousands of other custom algorithmic feeds created by other users and generated by federated third party servers.

Bluesky Social
