A lot of BS being hurled around here when it comes to #UBI - handing #money is not the only way. Provide basic #housing #healthcare #transportation #education #food #water #energy for free and pay for it with #tax on #income #wealth #inheritance that is steeply #progressive
After that one can assess the need for actually handing out #cash

Why universal basic income still can’t meet the challenges of an AI economy
Andrew Yang’s revived pitch suits the automation debate, but UBI can’t fix inequalities concentrated tech wealth drivesEduardo Porter (The Guardian)
I use less than 5L of water to shower in our motorhome and I take a very decent shower. It is all about knowing how to use that water. Likely a shower at home would use over 10 times that. Here is the water consumption in EU on average:

The average human in Spain consumes in a day as much as we two consume in a week in our motorhome.

Sir, I cannot *stand* seeing suffering, but I am--unfortunately-- not in a position to aid financially. However, I've consistently been seeing what a burden it is to find water in #Gaza & other places & I thought of something. I pray you aren't offended by my suggestion.
In the US, early settlers would put barrels outside their homes to collect #Rain #Water. They would use it for washing & could sometimes use the upper portions of collected water to drink from. (1)
A 2023 #SCOTUS decision set the stage for the action by limiting the agency’s power to police #wetlands. In the opinion in Sackett v. EPA, Justice #Alito wrote that the #CleanWaterAct allowed the #EPA to regulate only wetlands with a “continuous surface connection” to a “relatively permanent” body of #water.
But he did not explicitly define a “relatively permanent” body of water. Now, the #Trump admin is describing it as a body of water that flows year-round or during the “wet season.”

The #Trump admin proposed Monday to significantly limit the EPA’s authority to limit #pollution in #wetlands, #rivers & other bodies of #water across the country.
The proposed rule could strip federal #protections from millions of acres of wetlands & #streams, potentially threatening sources of clean #DrinkingWater for millions of Americans.
