#Palestine / HRW: Israel's deliberate water deprivation in Gaza is a crime of extermination and genocide

"Paragon, an Israeli spyware maker that has largely kept a low profile in recent years, was acquired last week by American private equity giant AE Industrial Partners, according to Israeli news reports.

Tech news website Calcalist reported that the investment firm bought Paragon for $500 million, and depending on how the company grows, the deal could reach $900 million. Globes reported that the upfront payment is $450 million, 20% of which will go to Paragon’s 400 employees, and 30% to the five co-founders, with the remaining 50% going to U.S. venture capital fund Battery Ventures and Israeli venture capital fund Red Dot.

In 2021, Forbes first revealed the existence of Paragon, which didn’t — and still doesn’t — have a website. The magazine reported that the company was founded by a group of former Israeli intelligence officers: Ehud Schneorson, former commander of Unit 8200, a renowned Israeli spy agency whose alumni often then work in the cybersecurity private sector, as well as CEO Idan Nurick, CTO Igor Bogudlov, and vice president of research Liad Avraham."

Politics of "Peaceful protest is NOT a crime"

The sole purpose of shitlib institutions (+ NGOs) is to be the controlled opposition of ruling class.

Their politics is all about setting the expectations so low & normalize only certain kind of "approved" politics are legitimate i.e public therapy session & its adjacent politics — even if its completely ineffective when it comes to as serious issues as people being killed by State as a consequence of written/unwritten policy.

Whether there is an occupation, fascist violent gangs, state goons killing people, price rise, tax hike, pothole problem in the street, etc; for all problems, the only tool they claim is legitimate is one of so called "peaceful" protest.

For every problem they use the same tool i.e "peaceful" protest — whether its effective or not. They elevate the means above the end — even if those means (using that tool of "peaceful" protest) has no realistic way of ever taking you to the end (reaching goal of getting rid of injustice).

In the best case, they are victims of *Law of the instrument* (or) whats most likely is that they are collaborators in the game ruling class plays.

By setting the expectations so low, by packaging that low expectations as some noteworthy demand, on the flipside what they also normalize is making rest of society look down upon those who dont see mere public therapy session (so called ""peaceful" protest) as an effective tool all the time.

Its about undermining those who dont agree its the right tool for every problem, those who think it should only be the first tool people should use & then move up from there in stages if the problem is not substantially addressed.

Its about undermining those who see that tool wont give the results most of the times, esp when issues at hand have too many vested interests for the ruling class to pretend to care — esp when injustice is so deeply entrenched into the system.

Amnesty is not talking about

Fight against injustice is NOT a crime.

"Peaceful" protest is NOT a crime.

Their job is let everyone know whats legitimate is what ruling class might (in the best case) allow you to engage in i.e so called "peaceful" protest, one that ruling class can safely ignore, without paying any serious price.

Reason why I say their politics are one of controlled opposition is because, those who dont know about these NGO politics think what they are saying is so obvious (while not recognizing what they are also NOT saying), but those in the know can see the undercurrent of this "peaceful" protest framing is deeply rooted in preservation of ruling class & securing corporate/state/so called "philanthropic" (rich parasites) funds for these NGOs/bureaucracies to sustain, by undermining "unapproved" means.

BTW, by *Fight*, I meant, both Violent & Non-Violent tactics. Let the effective one win & let it get rid of injustice. When something happens, best thing to do as a matter of instinct is to not undermine those who tries to do a good deed — even if they are not successful, even if there are unintended consequences — esp if there are unintended consequences.

Best thing is not to give a quarter to the enemy to blame those who engage in these tactics, as its the enemy's unjust system & consequences of the enemy's unjust system &/ actions that compelled people to deploy various tactics in the first place. Without the enemy's unjust system, very few people will even have an incentive to invest their time risking their physical safety (and possibly risking life) when they take an action to harm systems of injustice or those who try to impose/uphold injustice.

PS: I wrote most of this before, but then again Amnesty politics undermine working class politics. So, I just wrote it again.
